Mackinac Island Back

5 Day Package
Tour Dates: June 24 - 28, 2018

Off the Straits of Mackinac, part of the International waterway system between the United States and Canada, sits peaceful Mackinac Island. Experience this idyllic place where cars are prohibited by law. See the beauty of this island the way visitors throughout the centuries have seen it by horse and carriage. First night, arrive in Houghton Lake, MI and have dinner at your hotel and show-The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute, featuring classic tunes made famous by the Canadian Ballader. After breakfast, the next day, depart with your guide for Charlevoix, MI who will show you the architectural diversity of this lovely city. Highlighted are more than thirty “mushroom houses” built out of native stone and sport cedar shake roofs. Continue onward for lunch at Castle Farms and enjoy a walking and tram tour through this unique facility. The completed buildings and landscaped gardens are breathtaking. Afterwards, we’ll depart for Mackinaw City and aboard the ferry to the Island. As you step upon the island you will feel like you have stepped back in time. Horse drawn vehicles transport everything from supplies for the businesses on the island to passengers. Accommodations for tonight are on the Island. The next day, after breakfast we’ll board a carriage for a tour of the Island. The tour concludes with lunch at THE GRAND HOTEL for the buffet lunch. Return to downtown Mackinac and aboard the ferry to St. Ignace, meet guide for fascinating ride across the Mighty Mac, once the longest suspension bridge in the world. Then we’re off to THUNDER BAY RESORT for a buffet dinner in the Clubhouse Grill, followed by entertainment. On day four, after a full breakfast in the Clubhouse Grill we depart to Thunder Bay Maritime Heritage Center featuring exhibits for all ages. Relax and enjoy a gourmet lunch today at the Stoney Acres Winery, and afterwards depart for PRESQUE ISLE LIGHTHOUSE, located on Lake Huron built in 1870. It’s back to THUNDER BAY RESORT and step back in time as you board a horse drawn carriage taking you over the Thunder Bay River and through the woods to the beautiful and elegant Elk Antler Log Cabin. Culinary artist, James Spenser and staff will prepare a gourmet meal, where throughout your dinner you’ll sample five to seven wines from nearby Stoney Acres Winery. On Thursday, you’ll depart for home, with wonderful memories.
