Start your getaway with a stop at the Wendell August Forge in Mercer County.  Wendell August Forge is America’s oldest and largest, crafting hand-wrought ornamental metalware and elegant giftware since 1923. Founded by coal mine owner Wendell McMinn August, he would engage a blacksmith in his mine to hand-forge door latches for his home. With that, the birth of a new business. 95 years later, as the world seemingly moves faster than ever, Wendell August Forge is continuously dedicated to crafting gifts of enduring beauty. Just like a painting, each piece has a story. Each one different.

Next stop Libations Winery for wine tasting (included) and lunch on your own!  A FESTIVE EXPERIENCE you cannot miss. Enjoy a variety of delicious wines produced and crafted from both their own vineyard and local vineyards/orchards. Experience over 25 varieties of wine/ciders/mead, local craft beer, and signature specialty cocktails made with PA distilled spirits. Sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal from their signature house-made menu.

Enjoy shopping on an old-fashioned main street nestled in the rolling hills of scenic western Pennsylvania Amish country.    Volant is a unique village of quaint shops, restaurants, wineries and distillery.

Head to Tara for an evening of delicious food and relaxation. The elegant Greek Revival-style mansion, built in 1854, serves as the perfect country inn in the Mercer County area. The award-winning Inn holds a rich history as well as several awards for excellence in serving travelers with authentic Southern charm and luxury. If you are a fan of the Hollywood classic film, Gone with the Wind, you will love our Gone with the Wind themed hotel.

The next morning awake refreshed and ready to continue your adventure. After breakfast at Tara, you will visit The Avenue of 444 Flags. American flags as far as the eye can see greet visitors as they enter America’s Cemetery® in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Originally they were the symbol of “America Held Hostage.” Today the Avenue of 444 Flags remains as silent proclamation that our freedoms must never be taken for granted.

Kraynaks Flower Boutique & Greenhouses. This popular nursery & gift shop features elaborate Christmas displays, plus toys & garden products.

Next stop is DJ's Greenhouse to enjoy a short presentation and luncheon buffet. Walk through their greenshouses and gardens.

Take a scenic route this afternoon to Mortals Key and Gatehouse Winery (tasting included). Relax and listen to live entertainment.
