ROUTE 66 Traveling the “MOTHER ROAD”
8TH. Annual Branson Music Fest
Visit WARM GLOW CANDLE COMPANY, featuring hand dipped candles by the Hoosiers, before first night stop over at the Quality Inn in Effingham, IL. After a hot breakfast at the hotel, depart for Route 66. Stop to relax at the BRIDGEHEAD INN, a 1935 roadhouse that sat on the original Rt. 66. It has exhibits and unique factoids on display about the historic route.
At the PULASKI WELCOME CENTER, everyone will receive a small gift bag. A local historical guide will take you on a short tour of the journey along the Mother Road. Includes admission to the OLD STAGECOACH STOP MUSEUM, featuring history of the building from pre-civil war when Waynesville was a frontier town.
Depart for Springfield, MO and arrive at the ROUTE 66 CAR MUSEUM, featuring 70 car collections of sports cars, 1907 to 1980 classics and movie cars. Later today arrive in Branson, dinner at 6:30 PM, then a 8:00 PM performance at the Mansion Theatre, of the OAK RIDGE BOYS. Our stay in Branson includes an area tour of Branson, lunch with the ENTERTAINERS. While your enjoy your lunch buffet, you will visit with some of Branson’s finest entertainers, who’ll answer questions and tell you stories of how they got into the business.
On Friday, the 8th. ANNUAL BRANSON MUSIC FEST OF 2020 begins. This afternoon sit back and relax as you will enjoy the sounds of 9-10 different shows features in Branson. Spend the evening with CLAY COOPER at the Clay Cooper Theatre! Visit the CRAFT VILLAGE AT THE SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS, stroll the different booths that are displaying a variety of crafts and visit the vendors. HOMESTEAD TOUR included. Take a ride in the INSPIRATION TOWER for a panoramic view of the Branson Hills.
Saturday, April 18th. the 8th. ANNUAL BRANSON MUSIC FEST begins. Dinner and show at the CHOICES DINNER THEATRE WITH BILLY YATES, will keep you on the edge of your seat! Visit the ROUTE 66 MUSEUM IN LEBANON, MO, a recreated gas station with a vintage car and pumps, plus other Rt. 66 memorabilia. Lunch will be on your own in St. Roberts an the ROUTE 66 DINER with its 1950’s interior and exterior décor.
Depart for Cuba, MO. Visit the Curb Murals, explore on foot and trace the story behind the 14 outdoor murals that depict scenes from local and national history, including visits from Harry S. Truman, Amelia Earhart, and Bette Davis. Depart for an overnight stop at Effingham, IL with wonderful memories of your trip to Branson.
